Basics of IPv4 and IPv6 Network Manager Command Line Interface

Adding a new network interface:

nmcli con add con-name eno2 type ethernet ifname eno2

Verify you see the new connection and it is associated with the DEVICE.

nmcli con show

Add IPv4 IP address and set the method to manual.

nmcli con mod eno2 ipv4.addresses 10.10.10.10/24
nmcli con mod eno2 ipv4.method manual

Add IPv6 IP address and set the method to manual.

nmcli con mod eno2 ipv6.addresses fdda:df2a:bb1e::c0b7:64/64
nmcli con mod eno2 ipv6.method manual

Restart the interface and make sure it comes back up and each IP is pingable with the correct ping.

nmcli con down eno2
nmcli con up eno2
ping 10.10.10.10
(don't forget you need to use ping6 for IPv6 to respond)
ping6 fdda:df2a:bb1e::c0b7:64
